Our first few weeks in Bumblebees and Ladybirds

We have been very busy in Bumblebees and Ladybirds learning lots of new skills.

We have been practising writing our names independently. We have also sorted the letters from our names into the right order.

We have enjoyed doing ‘Squiggle Whilst you Wiggle’. The children learn new gross motor movements to music. They will dance using the movements and then mark large gross motor marks. This supports the children to become confident mark makers.

We have enjoyed starting PE and have been exploring different movements. We played an instruction game where we followed instructions to move in different ways. We also moved around like different animals.

We went for our first Welly Walk. We used our senses to notice signs of Autumn. We noticed the leaves were falling onto the floor and turning brown and orange.

We have been practising recognising rhyming words and initial sounds in phonics. We have enjoyed playing games on the Interactive Whiteboard.

We have explored making different sounds with the musical instruments and performing to our friends. The children have enjoyed singing songs and moving to the music.

Last week we met the Magic Number 1 and looked at different ways to represent 1!
