Hawks go ice skating!

Year 5 & 6 are enjoying ice skating sessions at the Link. They are working towards British Ice-Skating Level 1 certificate with their coach. Last week they were learning to skate backwards – now that’s fast progress!

The Stone age and Iron age in Year 3 & 4

Year 3 and 4 have been learning about the Stone age and Iron age exploring the tools and weapons used during this period. The children had the opportunity recently to touch and explore these tools and weapons first-hand learning how to be a warrior and even constructed their own spears and shields.

Ancient Greece in Year 5 & 6

Year 5 and 6 are exploring ancient Greece and finding out about the ancient city states of Athens and Sparta. The children have also been reading a version of the Odyssey and writing some fantastic diaries from the cyclops point of view.

The Ark say “Thank You” to the Open the Book team

The Ark practiced their writing skills when sending thank you cards to the Open The Book team. This fantastic team voluntarily brings different stories to life from The Bible every week. Donut Stop Reading!

Donut Stop Reading has been launched this term! All pupils will need to bring their reading records to school on a Friday where their reads will be counted. The Very Hungry Caterpillar

In Ladybirds and Bumblebees we enjoyed learning about The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We had our own caterpillars which we watched grow into beautiful butterflies. We talked about healthy eating and made our own fruit kebabs, they were delicious. We also wrote our own versions of the story.’
