Celebrations in KS1

Staying Healthy at Millbrook- Yr 1 & 2 football

Millbrook Year 1 and 2 children represented the school in a football tournament against our LACT schools on Friday 23rd November.  The team were superb and won the final!  Every squad member played a game and were instrumental in the success of the team.  Lets hope they continue their love of the sport outside of school as well!

We loved celebrating Diwali in Ladybirds and Bumblebees at the beginning of this term. We made lots of different Rangoli patterns using a variety of loose parts, we decorated Mehndi hands and we made our own Dandiya sticks to do some dancing with. ‘Being Human’ – Year 5 and 6 projects

Autumn in Bumblebees and Ladybirds

This term in Ladybirds and Bumblebees we have been learning all about Autumn. We have decorated pumpkins, made some Autumn garlands and, after reading ‘Stick Man’ and ‘Not a Stick’, we made our own stick people and stick wands. We loved launching our conker rockets on welly walk to see which one would fly the furthest!


KS1 Library visit

Year 1 and 2 had a great time at West Swindon Library on Monday 8th October. The children enjoyed finding fiction and non-fiction books and choosing some to take back to school. Balanceability in Bumblebees & Ladybirds

These excited children received their Balanceability certificates in assembly on Friday after completing their Balanceability lessons. On the last lesson of their course, their parents came into school to watch their children ride confidently around the sponsored assault course.
