Due to the current Covid 19 situation we are unable to hold our Open Day.
Caterpillars is our pre-school setting for children aged 3+. We offer 15 hours of universal funded and 30 hours extended funded pre-school education for eligible children in three hour sessions. Sessions run Monday – Friday 08:30 – 11:30 or 12:30 – 15:30 during term time (37 weeks per year). Lunch time sessions from 11.30 – 12.30 can be arranged, but please note there may be a charge for this hour.
In September 2017, the government introduced extended funding for up to a total of 30 hours a week, depending on your circumstances. To check your eligibility for the additional funding please go to the following website
https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
If you qualify you will be issued with an 11 digit eligibility code which should be entered onto the Parental Declaration Form.
Please be aware that we are unable to guarantee any additional funded hours. If you do not qualify for the addition funding all extra hours above 15 per week are charged at £4.00 per hour, we will make you aware of this before you are invoiced.
We follow the EYFS Statutory Framework (2017) and firmly believe that:
Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to their full potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure safe and happy childhood is important in its own right. Good parenting and high quality early learning together provide the foundation for children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.
(EYFS Statutory Framework, April 2017)
Caterpillar Pre-School aims to:
- Provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age;
- Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop;
- Add to the life and well-being of its local community;
- Offer children and their parents a service, which promotes equality and values diversity.
