Ladybird Class

Foundation Stage centre their planning around high-quality texts that promote opportunities for rich communication and a love of reading. The children’s interests are also taken into account, resulting in creative and engaging activities to consolidate and extend children’s learning.

The reading scheme used throughout the school is Oxford Reading Tree from Oxford University Press. Millbrook uses their ”Floppy’s Phonics” systematic synthetic phonics teaching programmes to teach phonics.

  • Balanceability

The first 16 Ladybird and Bumblebee children have now completed their Balanceability  lessons after school. They have learnt all the skills to ride a balance bike and then to use those skills to ride a pedal bike. All the children were amazing and enjoyed the experience. Thank you to the fantastic Year 6 helpers who help Miss Burrows and the younger children with their Balanceability lessons.
