Yesterday, Thursday 1st May 2025, the children and staff at Millbrook were privileged to receive performances from the British Army Band Tidworth. They amazed and delighted all who watched with renditions of the Dambusters, Michael Buble, music from The Wizard of Oz and Wicked and even The Final Countdown.
All the children were a credit to our school and truly impressed our accomplished visitors with their enthusiasm, behaviour and thoughtful questions. The band consisted of 25 members of active serving military personnel. The band has played some high profile events including The Queen's funeral and the coronation of King Charles lll. They will also be part of the VE Day parade celebrating 80 years since the end of World War 2.
All the children really enjoyed all the activities including the concert in the morning, but especially the marching experience in the afternoon where they were all able to watch the magnificent site of a marching band before having the opportunity to participate and create a whole school marching band.
It was a fantastic day for one and all and we send a huge Thank You to the British Army Band Tidworth for their time and hope to catch a glimpse of them on the TV on Monday during the parade.
